My name is Barbro Lindquist - I am originally from Sweden and
have lived in the UK since 2002. I have been involved with dog
training/sport/showing for around 30 years.
I started off in Sweden with my GSD doing what we call the
Swedish working trial, including tracking, searching, protection
and obedience. I was also in the first search and rescue team in
Sweden.
I moved to Belgium 1989 (work) and took my GSD female with
me, where I started training for the IPO. I completed the IPO 1
and Kkl 1 with my female, and also had a litter from her.
I moved to Germany 1993 (work again) and continued the
training in a club in Hamburg.
In 1994 I got a new dog, this time a male. I did schutzhund
training with him but not competition.
After a few years in Sweden, I moved back to Belgium where
I continued the schutzhund training until 2000, when sadly my
dog had to be put to sleep.
In 2003/2004 I did my training and qualification in Swedish Dog Massage at Axelson Animal School in Sweden. Following my training I worked as a canine masseur at a hydrotherapy pool in Staffordshire for 3 years
Also in 2004 I bought Videx Riva – otherwise known as ‘Busa’. A year later, I bought a 15-month old female GSD from Germany, Gini von der Plassenburg. I have trained the dogs and in May 2006 both passed the BH test at South Cheshire Schutzhund Club.
Later that year, Gini passed the Sch 1 (88 78 87: 253) in Belgium followed by the breed survey (Kkl 1) in Belgium May 2007 and lifetime survey October 2009 also in Belgium.
I have lived in Carmarthenshire, Wales since July 2007.
Regards
Barbro Lindquist
